Acoustic Imaging

A new generation of sonar is currently under development. Through sophisticated signal processing and data reduction techniques, acoustic energy generated by a sonar is being used to produce 3 dimensional images of structures on, and under, the sea floor.

As this technology continues to mature, it will find more use among marine archaeologists and commercial salvage companies.
